Sunday School
"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8:31-32 (NIV)

Rehobeth offers Sunday School classes for children, youth, and adults. All classes meet weekly from 9:45 to 10:30 AM.

Music Ministry
I will sing and make music with all my soul. - Psalm 108 (NIV)

Music has long been an integral part of Rehobeth's worship tradition.  Our music ministry gives glory to God through song, handbells, instrumentals, and musical productions.  The music ministry includes:

  • Chancel Choir
  • Cherub Choir (preschool through 2nd grades)
  • Herald Choir (3rd through 8th grades)
  • Handbell Choirs (adult and youth)
  • Praise Team

Note: Check out the Music Notes page!

Gethsemane Prayer List
Give ear to me and hear my prayer. - Psalm 17:6 (NIV)

The Gethsemane Prayer List consists of those persons whom the congregation is asked to lift up in prayer each day. Some may be enduring health problems or a family crisis, some may have lost a loved one, and others may have unspoken needs that only God knows. As members of the body of Christ, we are committed to prayer - not only as a personal walk with God but as a form of ministry to others.

Health and Wellness Program
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit... -1 Corinthians 12:8-9 (NIV)

Monday mornings from 8 to 10 AM, members of Rehobeth who are registered nurses offer blood pressure checks. They educate the congregation and community on health concerns and make referrals to healthcare specialists. Their dedication and timely intervention has helped save several lives.

Stephen Ministry
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Rehobeth has commissioned 14 Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministers are specially trained members of the congregation who provide one-on-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Anyone in the community - not just in the church - may be referred for Christian support and encouragement from a Stephen Minister.

The Corner Table     Get Well Blessings for Our Wounded Troops

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink." - Matthew 25:35 (NIV)

Volunteers from Rehobeth serve meals throughout the year at The Corner Table, a soup kitchen in Newton, NC. Members of Faith Leading Youth (FLY) also serve meals during the summer and periodically make bag lunches for The Corner Table's guests, so that they will have healthy food to eat over the weekend.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. - 2 Corinthians 2:3 (NIV)

By arrangement with the military hospital at Camp Anaconda, Rehobeth sends get well cards and notes of encouragement to our wounded men and women.  Simply sign and seal your cards and letters and drop them in the box in the Narthex, and we'll forward them on.

Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry (ECCCM)

  Seasonal Missions

I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. - 2 Corinthians 11:27 (NIV)

Rehobeth collects non-perishable food items for ECCCM each week.  Look for the collection basket in the Narthex.  Also, during a 4-day period each year, Rehobeth sends volunteers to the ECCCM office in Newton, NC, to sort clothing, foodstuffs, and other items for distribution to the needy.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. - Colossians 3:17 (NIV)

Rehobeth promotes and participates in several projects during the holidays, such as:

  • Buying gifts for children listed on our Angel Tree
  • Filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child
  • Making care packages for nursing home residents

  Children     Youth

United Methodist Kids (UMK)
"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me" - Mark 9:37 (NIV)

Approximately once a month, the children of the church meet for outings or special activities that foster Christian fellowship and service.

Puppet Ministry
Teach them ... and show them the way to live. - Exodus 18:20 (NIV)

Usually the last Sunday of each month, members of Faith Leading Youth (FLY) perform skits using puppets. Puppets are a fun and effective way to bring God's Word to life for our children.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you and watch over you. - Psalm 32:8 (NIV)

VBS is one of the highlights of the summer for the children in our church and community. The program combines music, games, skits, crafts, and classroom instruction for a joyous and meaningful celebration of God's love.

And I keep praying that this faith we hold in common keeps showing up in the good things we do, and that people recognize Christ in all of it. - Philemon 1:6 (The Message)

Middle- and high-school youth interact with their peers in a comfortable, supportive setting and engage in studies and activities that promote spiritual growth and outreach. Unless otherwise announced, meetings are held Sunday afternoons in the Youth Room from 4 to 5 PM. The group shares a snack supper from 5 to 5:30 with the Bible Skills, Drills, & Thrills class.
