Announcements

No First Thursday Meal in January

Due to the New Year's Day holiday, there will be no First Thursday meal on Thursday, January 1.

Loaves & Stitches

The Loaves & Stitches group will meet on Tuesday, January 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the church parlor. This special group creates a variety of handmade items, including prayer squares, shawls, and blankets, which are often used for prayer, comfort, or as meaningful gifts. They also produce gloves, mittens, and toboggans specifically for foster children in Catawba County. Each item crafted by the group is blessed through prayer, adding a spiritual dimension to their work and emphasizing the caring intent behind their efforts. Beginners are warmly welcomed to join and learn.

Help Us Take Down Christmas Decorations

On Wednesday, January 7, as we conclude the Advent and Christmas seasons, we will be gathering at 5:00 p.m. to take down and put away all the Christmas decorations from the sanctuary and narthex. A;; are welcome to come lend a hand!

Fun Timers Outing to Toucan's

It’s time again to start another great year of fun and fellowship.  We will have a lunch at Toucan’s Lakefront Restaurant (167 Pinnacle Lane, Mooresville) on Thursday, January 8th at 11:30 a.m.  If you’d like to join, please either sign up on the Fun Timers’ Facebook page or the list in the narthex by January 4th so we can have a head count for the restaurant.  FYI, you do not need to be a member of Rehobeth Church to join this group.

Churchwide Lunch on Sunday, January 11

Absolutely everyone is invited to lunch in the fellowship hall following the worship service on Sunday, January 11.  The lunch will include Rehobeth Barbecue, Rehobeth BBQ sauce, and slaw.  You are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert if you’d like, but that is optional.  There is no set price for the meal, but donations will be accepted to go to the Project Fund.  Also, we still have some Rehobeth Barbecue (frozen), sauce, and slaw for sale.  If you’d like to purchase one of these items, please see Rosie in the church office.

Upcoming Class on Colonial America--Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom

Starting in January, Dr. Steve Pickard will lead a 10-week class entitled "Faith and Freedom: Colonial American and the Birth of a Nation (1760-1785)." This course explores the political, spiritual, and moral struggles that transformed the American colonies into an independent nation. Through historical documents, personal stories from Colonial leaders, and biblical reflection, participants will consider how faith shaped early American life and how Methodist though emerged in a time of revolution and revival. The class will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, beginning January 13, in the fellowship hall. If you are interested in participating, please sign the list in the narthex so we can plan accordingly.

Cards & Snacks

All are invited for Cards & Snacks on Wednesdays, January 14 and 28, at 10:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. So bring some snacks to share and join in the fun!
